I work with a variety of media including clay, paint, photography, print making and most recently glass. I have used ready made bricks that are built into walls with glaze, stains and ceramic transfers made from my own images applied to their surface. For the past two years I have concentrated on developing a range of jewellery. Rich texture and colourful surface characterizes the jewellery which is inspired by Mediterranean and African design.

On canvas I use acrylic and spray paint. In printmaking I use mono print and collograph techniques. I am interested in the urban landscape; people, cars, signs and patterns. My aim is for the most ordinary motif to be transformed into an extraordinary object in whatever media.

I teach art and ceramics as well as designing and delivering visual arts projects for children and young people. I view the teaching and facilitating of art as a collaborative exchange. What I consider to be art is not only the marks made on paper but the unexpected change in a person’s way of seeing and relating to the world.
